Starting in England I am heading to Austria taking in Belgium and Luxembourg along the way. From there I am going over the alps using the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße and into Slovenia. The Balkans come next and I will zig zag my way through those all the way to Burgas on the Black Sea Coast

Hi.....Lee here This is the bike i'll be riding during the trip. Its a Triumph Tiger 1050 (2009) I've had it since July 2014 and its ran like a dream. Tons of power and so much comfort you can spend the whole day on it and still feel like you've just got off the sofa when you pull in for the night

Welcome to my Bike Trip
Thank you for taking the time to visit this website and reading what its all about
I am planning a bike trip from England to the Black sea and back, visiting some great friends along the way and taking in some beautiful scenery, awesome sites and fantastic roads . The trip is taking me through 23 countries in 31 days, covering just under 5000 Miles and spending over 100 hours in the saddle. Mad I know, but life would be boring if we didn’t challenge ourselves.
My name is Lee.
I am a father to two great children who have given me their blessing to take on this new adventure (as long as I come back safe). While I work hard and try to be the best father I can be to my children, I figure life’s far too short to sit at home and watch TV, so I need to get out and do something every few years. I normally do this with the kids but this time i am going to do something on my own.
So far I have been lucky enough (through work or on holiday) to have travelled to over 40 countries. I have Stroked Lions, Elephants, Cheaters and Tigers in Africa, sailed in the North Sea, visited Mayan Pyramids in Central America, built Igloo’s in Norway, dived in the Med, skied the Hahnenkamm, rock climbed in Germany, taken a Bridge Swing in England, Skydived in America, got fitted for suits in India, windsurfed in the Caribbean, rode camels in the Middle East and sunbathed in Spain, Greece, Cyprus and a few other sunny destinations.
A couple of years ago I took the kids on a trip around Europe by Car (BMW X5). We spent a few days at my flat in Belgium (I was working there at the time), We did some tree climbing and rope walking. We rode on an old Steam Train and spent a few days chilling out around a pool. We then travelled to Berlin, Krakow and Prague and had a fantastic time. We visited as much as we could fit in, walked mile after mile in each city and took thousands of photos. It got me thinking that maybe i could do something similar on a bike The idea was planted and the seeds have now grown into this "plan".
I grew up riding bikes but before is started planing this trip my longest trip to was from North Yorkshire to Southampton via, Whitby, Scarbrough, Bridlington and Hull. I never taken on anything of this scale. I do love the solitude you get while riding but also the comradery you get from being part of a team so I didn’t really want to do this alone.I have a few great friends and one of them stepped up and agreed to do this with me. ( Update - unluckily, due to an accident on our test ride to Wales, he now cant come on the trip and Im doing it on my own)
This site will show you the routes I am taking, the places I am visiting, the kit I am packing and the administration “stuff” I need to make sure the trip goes with the smallest amount of hiccups. I’m sure there will be some bumps along the way, as we all know that no plan lasts longer than ice cream at a kids summer beach party, but hopefully I will be able to get through anything that is thrown at me and have an adventure to remember when we are too old to start a new one.
Thank you for visiting and taking time to read what this is about.
If you are leaving a suggestion then I would like to say thank you in advance
If you would like to sponsor this trip please send me an email and I would be happy (and grateful) to discuss your involvement and requirements
