The Total duration of the trip is 31 days. Starting on a friday after work and finishing just over 4 weeks later on Sunday evening

There are now 20 planned stages and 6 planned days off, with 5 days left as spare to be taken in emergencies (Injury or break down) or when Idecide Ineed or want an extra day off.

Each Stage has multiple legs and these have been plotted into the maps for each stage and identified in the “Legs” Section

I will seting off early each morning (7/8am) and aim to be at the destination by early evening (6/7pm). This should give me 10/11 hours to cover the day’s mileage. Most days I am only planning to be on the bike for around 5 hours out of those 10/11 with the rest for breaks and sightseeing. Depending on when I want to be at the destination or where I want to have lunch will decide the start time for the day.

I will be stopping at as many interesting locations as I can along the route and plan to ride for no more than 2 Hours on any single leg. There are one or two over that so those will become ride and find legs. I will just have to find a cafe or something while on route and have a break.

I will be travelling through 23 different countries during the course of the trip. Most Borders are invisible so I  will need to look out for signposts to tell me when I have crossed from one to the other. When there are Border crossings I need to make sure I have all my documentation handy. (See Documentation) Hopefullyl there shouldn’t be any serious delays.

I need to pick up 10 Vignette’s on route, these are so you can travel through the countries toll roads without having to purchase at the time of travel at each toll. These can all be bought at the Border Crossing or at Service Stations in country before the toll roads.

I also need to purchase Kosovo road Insurance when I cross the border into Kosove (this is not optional). its only about £10 so worth paying to add another country to the list.

There are 12 (Twelve) different currencies I will need along the way. I am taking some loose Euros that i can change at border points for countries i cant pre change money for. This is just for drinks and snaks along the road. I also have a pre-paid euro card for larger items and Hotels

In most of the countries I visit medical cover can be provided using the EHIC but not ALL so a good travel Insurance Cover is essential and i have a great cover from the Bank.
