Trip Notes
The most miles in a day.
There are two things I definitely want to see. Colditz Castle and Wartburg Castle, what we do in between those I don’t mind. There is a huge Castle and park we can stop at on the way to Colditz but from then on I just think we need to get our heads down and reach our stops and final destination before it gets too dark.

Stops & Destination Notes
Built by Augustus the strong in the early 18th Century.
The Pillnitz Castle complex consists of three main buildings, the Riverside Palace, the Upper Palace and the later New Palace The buildings enclose a Baroque garden and are surrounded by a large public park.
There is some place called Colditz we could have lunch at then maybe escape to the open road for the rest of the afternoon.
Built in 1046 with the approval of Henry III of the Holy Roman Empire Colditz Castle quickly became an important lookout post for the German Emperors. Its more recent history is more well-known with its conversion to a Prisoner of War Camp during WWII
Kassel
The Brothers Grimm spent a large part of their life in Kassel writing fairy tales which has gone a long way to putting Kassel on the German Fairy-tale Route.
